Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Dublin Horse Show in the RDS, with so much to see and do at this event it’s a real treasure trove for the senses. I brought my trusted sketchbook along to capture some of the sights. As you know I really love sketching fashion, so naturally I was drawn to the ladies day event, which was brilliant. Interviewing the ladies individually on stage, it’s a great way to see all the style. I created finished fashion illustrations of the outfits which caught my attention.
Above is Bairbre Power, fashion editor with the Irish Independent, who was a judge at the ladies day event. She always dresses so well and is beaming with confidence, which is always attractive.
While Rebecca Quigley stood out in bright red with an outfit and hat from the Jennifer Wrynne boutique. Rebecca is a stylist from Monaghan, who always looks so polished and lady like, I love her use of bold block colouring. Well done to her for winning “elegance is an attitude” award at the event.
Finally here is an illustration of myself, I don’t usually draw fashion sketches of myself but everyday I do draw a quick warm up sketch of “What I Wore Today.” I particularly liked my outfit on this day and the sketch turned out pretty good so I just went with developing it further.
