Kildare Notebook Project
I am a self confessed visual diary / sketchbook lover! Feeling the need to be able to draw anytime and anywhere. It is probably where I conjure up my best ideas and characters. I took part in the Notebook Project, through the Kildare Arts Office. The concept is very simple, you are given a sketchbook, you fill it with plenty of creative happenings and you send it back to the Kildare Arts Office. It then becomes part of their archive and tours the country on exhibition. Here’s a look at my webpage for the project and a short video of flicking through my notebook before I sent it back.
I love working on new projects, these can add a little bit of sparkle into your work, this was one such project. Working closely with David from Beyond the Wild Garden, I illustrated some images for the website. It then went on to win Best Design at the blog awards.
Pig’s On Parade
This was a real treat! Designing a pig in aid of The Jack and Jill Foundation was great fun. It’s lovely to experiment on new techniques and on an unusual service! The project was called Pigs On Parade. Once the pigs were finished they were displayed around Dublin City Centre and were finally auctioned off to the highest bidder, here’s mine. All money raised went to a great charity who work for an important cause. Below is a video of the official launch with Irish Tv personality Brendan O’Connor and also a video of when it was featured on TG4.
